Modern urban culture: not a style but a “method of functional analysis”

The essay is focused on urban plannning and environment in the light of Modernism paradigm as a new way of building and conceptualising the metropolis. In particular, Russian research in 1920s and 1930s on linear cities by OSA group are ambitious and remarkable examples of such reserach which was spread all over European countries and the U.S.A. This work tries also to rewrite the history of Modernism according to Leonardo Benevolo study which underline as Postmodernism is a misunderstanding concept in order to correctly evaluate Modern Architecture.
