GLOBALISATION AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: A REFLECTION ON THE EFFECTS OF CORONA VIRUS (COVID 19)

This study is informed by the threat posed by the novel Corona Virus to international relations. The Coronavirus has a lot of hidden dimensions and implications, conspiracy theories, disaster profiteering, threats of retreating and pulling off from treaties and conventions entered into by member states, rise of African consciousness, scramble of Africa and economic implications, amongst others. In terms of predictions, this study chiefly is of the view that, the escalating conspiracy theories over Coronavirus by China and USA have higher chances of triggering WW111. Corona virus has seen hidden variables and chief among them is threat to global peace in an attempt by China to alter the world order. States are investing in conventional warfare negating unforeseen threats to national security like health pandemics, natural disasters, corruption, and smuggling amongst others.
