Abstract
The history of the origin of the wooden hull speaks about how people in the interior of the Amazonia make boats from a single tree trunk choosing the best wood to build one of the most used river transport in the colonial period of the Amazonia and still used in present.
Written in general Amazonian language, the nheengatu and in Portuguese and English, the story about the origin of the hull, the oldest transport in the Amazon region is told from the histories of indigenous students from São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas, Brazil.
