Abstract
The study piece that is being presented focuses on Gyanendra, the final ruler of the Shah dynasty, and how the Nepali press helped shape public opinion in favor of the republic. King Prithvi Narayan Shah established the Shah Dynasty, which governed Nepal for ten years. Under the reign of Gyanendra, who reigned twice despite not being a royal heir by birth, the monarchy came to an end.
