Abstract
Rapid urbanization and industrial expansion have resulted in the conversion of arable agricultural land into manufacturing hubs and infrastructure projects. In developing nations like India, this crisis is compounded by structural deficiencies in higher education, where institutions function primarily as ‘degree-granting factories, without conferring industry-relevant skills, leading to widespread educated unemployment. Concurrently, rapid advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation threatens white-collar and technology sector jobs. This paper explores how crop diversification (fruits, nuts, legumes, cash crops), AI-driven Agri-Tech, and value-added agribusiness can absorb displaced labor, mitigate unemployment, and ensure long-term global food security and economic resilience.
