Abstract

Energy management includes the planning and operation of energy-related generation and consumption units. The goals are resource conservation as well as climate protection and cost reductions, while ensuring the energy needs of users. An effective energy management system makes a significant contribution to environmental protection. To manage a proactive transitional process all affected actors have to cooperate. The essence of the new paradigm shift implemented in energy management can be summed up in the fact that the goal system of the energy policy, which until now has only been aimed at always achieving supply surplus, will fundamentally change.
